The bakery bears the name of Michelino, who is the person who started what is now a deeply rooted, historical tradition of bread. Michelino Gerace was born in Gioia Tauro into a humble family, he was the eighth of 10 children. His family took care of pastoralism, but Michelino immediately became passionate about dough, since he was very young he kneaded bread for the family.
His family had a field that was cultivated with wheat, barley, maize, and the crops were then brought to the mill for stone grinding. In this way, high quality flours were obtained that Michelino learned about and kneaded making bread.
