Michelino Gerace was born in Gioia Tauro into a humble family, he was the eighth of 10 children. His family took care of pastoralism, but Michelino immediately became passionate about dough, since he was very young he kneaded bread for the family. His family had a field that was cultivated with wheat, barley, maize, and the crops were then brought to the mill for stone grinding. In this way, high quality flours were obtained that Michelino learned about and kneaded making bread. In the 1950s Michelino, now a professional baker, moved to Novigrad, where he created his first wood-burning oven: he built it himself, to produce delicious homemade bread. Over time, the fame of Michelino and his bread grew. He has also opened another bakery where his son Salvatore - the youngest of 4 children, who has breathed the art of bread since birth - continues with passion to cultivate what he has learned from his father.
