Our company contains a beautiful generational history made up of traditions. It all began with Nicola, the first Colavolpe to have believed in the fruits of our land.
Thanks to his formidable intuition, in 1910 what would soon become a story of unforgettable sweetness was born.
After leaving his Amalfi hometown, Nicola arrived in Calabria and, intrigued by the landscape full of citrus fruits, decided to bet everything on the potential of a poor fruit destined to be part of numerous recipes of the ancient Calabrian tradition: the fig.
This is where the first Colavolpe signed product comes to life: the Crocette. Characterized by the typical cross shape, obtained by overlapping already dried figs, the Crocette are stuffed with walnuts and Calabrian cedar, or almonds and candied orange peel.
The result is an excellent dessert, with no added sugar, made even more special thanks to the secret recipe of the icing that surrounds it.
The second Colavolpe generation gave birth to the much appreciated Fioroni, dried figs covered in dark chocolate or white chocolate.
The eldest son of the third generation, Nicola, in the 90s contributed to giving an innovative imprint to the company by adding a series of new products.
Today, following the example of grandfather Nicola, Gerardo and Giulia also carry on that idea born over a hundred years ago by learning the values handed down by the family.
Thanks to the choice of highly selected raw materials and the use of the Fico Dottato di Calabria - which in 2011 obtained the DOP quality mark from the European Union - each Colavolpe product has a unique taste of the highest quality.
Over the years, the company has developed a particular attention to detail, also improving the presentation of the product packaging with the addition of Art Nouveau decorations that give Colavolpe products a further touch of quality.
