It was the beginning of 1927 when the first generation of olive growers in our family began this journey that has been going on for almost a century. It all started with a passionate and far-sighted Carlo Rota who, together with his brother Salvatore, had the intuition to grind the olives he produces himself. The small oil mill, located in the center of the town, comes to life. The harvest becomes a moment of celebration and the pressing the moment of reward with the expected oil, the fruit of a year of hard work. The enthusiasm and passion for authenticity and tradition pass from generation to generation, the knowledge for this work is passed on from father to son and from son to grandson. Today we have grown, the plant has enlarged, we have adapted to modern techniques, but we always remain faithful to the tradition that has taught us so much over all these years. The estate covers a total area of 150 hectares, of which 75 are dedicated to the specialized cultivation of olive trees.
The soil, of clayey and sandy calcareous origin, is ideal for growing olive trees, as it is rich in all the macro and microelements essential for its growth. The entire area of our estates enjoys a wonderful Mediterranean climate, consisting of hot, dry summers and short, rainy winters in the right amount. All of this is even more accentuated by the position of our estates, halfway between the Sila National Park and the wonderful Ionian coasts.
